The official test booklet of the Australian citizenship exam, Australian Citizenship: our Common Bond, is published by the Australian government. You can use this book to plan your test by remembering the sections that are tested.

Each testable section is designed to assess your level of knowledge about Australia.
No one can predict which questions may appear on an exam. It is therefore best to study and remember the whole testable section.
The research resources booklet contains a great deal of information, and it can feel overwhelming. There are many ways you can study effectively for an exam.

You can use our study tips to prepare for your upcoming Australian Citizenship exam.
Step 1
You can read through the entire testable section without memorising anything. It is important that you have a good understanding of all the content.
Step 2
The purpose of this phase is to determine whether you should be studying the book chapter-by-chapter or if there are better ways for you.
It’s possible that you won’t want to memorize the entire book at once.
You will need to first study Part 1 – Australia and the people of Australia, and then take your first practice test.
The tip also applies to subsequent chapters. It is important to understand all the relevant contexts of the parts that will be tested. You might forget the information if you just memorized it.
Step 3
After you have reviewed and confirmed your understanding of the three chapters you can move on to simulation tests. The simulation test is an exact copy of the computerized standard Australian citizenship exam.
Using the same format and design. These simulations have 45-minute time limits and include questions from every chapter.
Simulation tests and chapter exams are extremely useful for training you on how to answer each question that may appear in an actual exam.
Remember that this is a test of multiple choice. Each question will allow you to choose from three possible answers. Answers may seem similar, so it is difficult to select the right answer.
We suggest you relax the day before your exam and quit reviewing. Take a break to relax your mind.
